AGE CATEGORIES

Age category is determined by how old you are on the day of the competition.

Duo/trios/troupes are determined by the eldest dancer.

All competitors must be prepared to present proof of age if challenged.

TROUPES may CONTAIN 20% OF DANCERS WHO 'DANCE UP AN AGE CATEGORY' EG: A DANCER AGED 13 MAY DANCE WITHIN A TROUPE IN THE 15+ CATEGORY.

NO TROUPES ARE TO CONTAIN DANCERS OLDER THAN THE AGE LIMIT.

 TIME LIMITS

Solo 2 mins max

Duo/trio 2.5 mins max

Troupes 4 mins max

 

MUSIC

All music must be sent to EVOLUTION DANCE EVENTS via WE TRANSFER no later than one month before the competition. Failure to do so may result in the act not being able to perform. 

WE DO NOT ACCEPT MUSIC ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION.

Please bring back up music on an iPod, iPhone etc to the competition in case of emergencies.

If your music stops due to a technical fault you will be allowed to dance again. 

Music must not contain swearing or explicit content. 

 

AWARD CRITERIA

Acts will be judged via a point system based on the following criteria:

Technique (30 points)

Musicality (20 points)

Choreography (20 points)

Overall performance (30 points)

Awards will be given for 1st-4th place in all sections as well as an award for best costume. 

 

PAYMENTS

All entry & spectator tickets must be paid for via bank transfer with your studio name as the reference.

All payments must be paid in full no later than one month before the competition. Refunds are not available once payments have been made.

 

 

EXTRA

General props are allowed. 

No dangerous props may be used e.g. fire, swords, knives etc. 

No form of liquids, gels, aerosols, glitter, or confetti, etc. which may affect the stage surface, may be used during any routines.

 

All entries must age appropriate. This includes music, costume and content.

 

Solo dancers may only compete once within each solo category.

Duo/trio may dance more than once in a category with a different partner/students.

Song & dance entries must not include track vocals in singing sections.

 

 

Audience members are expected to treat all performances and competitors with respect & support. Please restrain from making unnecessary movement or noise during performances. Applauds and support is greatly encouraged at the end of each performance.

 

The taking of photos/videos of routines/competitors is permitted at our events, however we ask that you only film your own child/studio and do not film/photograph any other studio or performer.

 

EVOLUTION DANCE EVENTS reserve the right to use competitor photos/videos to appear on promotional material.

 

All competitors are the sole responsibility of their studio. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. EVOLUTION DANCE EVENTS are not responsible for any competitor, any loss of property or personal injury at our events.

 

EVOLUTION DANCE EVENTS reserves the right to combine sections, add or reduce competition days or move the competition location.
